Alliance Française Wine Masterclass

Welcome to Alliance Française's wine tasting masterclass series, in partnership with C'est Bon Restaurant: an enlightening evening to explore the art of French winemaking and tasting.

Join us in the cosy wine cellar for an evening of fine French wines curated and presented by an expert sommelier, and paired with a superb selection of quality cheeses and charcuterie.

Your sommelier will guide you through the nuances of describing each wine's unique colour, aroma and palate as you savour each glass. You'll hear the unique stories of each wine's region and winemaker, and discover the techniques of their craft and the rich traditions they embody.

An intimate soirée, our masterclass is perfect for both connoisseurs and newcomers eager to deepen their knowledge and appreciation of wines.

May Masterclass Focus:

French vs. Australian Wines

Much of our Australian wine regions have a storied history with French grape varieties. We have looked up to and emulated the greats of France - Champagne, Burgundy - and our famed Shiraz hails from the esteemed Rhône Valley.

Now, a couple of centuries later, join us to pit our homeland against the originals - three brackets, head to head. Your sommelier will guide you through these wines with a short break in between.

Now that Australian wines have gained their own unique, revered identity, do our French counterparts stack up? How do our 'terroirs' compare?
